ABO Apprenticeship, INJ

ABO Apprenticeship, INJ (Registration Number FL005081357), named in memoriam of its Founder, Alfred B. Osterhout, is wholly sponsored by Coastal Mechanical.

ABO Apprenticeship is registered with the Federal and State Departments of Education. ABO Apprenticeship is also nationally accredited with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). An in-house program, ABO Apprenticeship offers training in plumbing, pipefitting, and sheet metal work. Upon completion of this 4-year, 8,000 hours program, Apprentices are state-wide recognized as skilled Journeymen.

ABO Apprenticeship is also an approved Veteran's Training Provider for Florida (Facility Code# 20A06410). Apprentices may qualify for educational benefits via their GI Bills.

Coastal Mechanical built its own apprenticeship program as a solution for the limited craft training opportunities available across the state. Al Osterhout, Program Founder, believed the Apprenticeship program gave Coastal the opportunity to build expertise within the construction industry and ensured that Coastal's employees received the best possible education and training." Coastal continues this legacy. The majority of Coastal's leadership team graduated from a registered apprenticeship program.

ABO Apprenticeship is available to employees working in the Central and East branches. For all other branches, Coastal Mechanical sponsors local, federal and state registered apprenticeship programs.
