Alex Myers

Congratulations to Alex Myers for graduating from High School early.

Alex has been working in our sheet metal shop in Melbourne on a part- time basis after school.

He just graduated from Melbourne High School and has now moved into a full-time day shift position in our shop.

Alex started with us in the fall of 2018. He found out about Coastal while we were doing a presentation for the construction class at his school. He seemed to show a great deal of interest in the presentation. During our interview process,  Alex said that he wanted to learn a trade. He said that he would rather start making money now while learning, rather than go to college and incur a bunch of debt.

When asked what he has learned so far, he said “how to make hangers and bend duct.”

When asked, what do you like about working at Coastal, he said, “learning something new every day and he also likes the people he works with.”

Some of his goals are to join apprenticeship, learn everything about the shops, learn to weld,  complete apprenticeship, become a journeyman, and keep learning the trade and moving up at Coastal.

When asked, what would you tell others about Coastal to get them to come to work here, he said, “it feels good to learn and to take pride in a job well done.”

Alex’s hobbies are fishing, hiking and he wants to buy a truck. He also likes watching college football,  baseball and is a Florida State fan (Go Noles!).

Alex’s dad is a carpenter supervisor, his mom is a nurse, and he has 2 sisters and a brother.

We’re looking forward to seeing Alex grow with Coastal.
